Battersea Power Station

Battersea

Battersea Power Station, a Grade II Listed Building, which dominates the local skyline, is the subject of a massive redevelopment programme including the provision of commercial, residential, leisure, hotel and conference facilities.

We have advised the client on ecological matters since 2001.  Our work has involved detailed survey of the site and its ecological relevant surroundings. We have also provided the ecological chapter of the Environmental Statement for the project.

In terms of ecological and landscape design we have proposed new habitats for a wide variety of native flora and fauna on and around the built form. We have also convened and chaired meetings with English Nature, the Environment Agency, and Wandsworth Borough Council to discuss surveys and design development.

Key resources which we hope to retain on or near the site include breeding Peregrine Falcons, Black Redstarts, uncommon plants and invertebrates, and roosting waterfowl.
