The whole scheme is built from limestone to create a 'natural'
feature and is designed to incorporate pools and riffles sections
with other geomorphological features including gravel shoals,
naturally bedded rock to river banks, and locally appropriate
native species planting. In addition high quality stone paving
and carefully selected street furniture set off one of the 'greenest'
new buildings in Wiltshire within a sensitive conservation area.
The gardens contain artworks such as mosaics, purpose designed
seating, street furniture and railings. The scheme has become
and is being used as a 'best practice' example of urban river
rehabilitation.
