Nicholas Pearson Associates provided ecological consultancy services for the project as part of the reclamation of the former industrial site.  We advised on the creation of artificial soil mediums using on site substrates and were part of the team that designed the layout such that all materials were used within the site.  We designed a number of interlinking wetlands, providing both an attractive setting for the development and valuable wildlife habitats. This was part of an integrated approach to surface water management through a synthesis of engineering, ecology, landscape and architecture.

Dr. Mike Wells (Associate Director) wrote a paper on the work undertaken: Wells et al. 1998.   Sustainable Habitat Creation in Nottingham on a Former Industrial Site.   In: Land Reclamation, Achieving Sustainable Benefits.   Ed by H. R. Fox, H. M. Moore & A. D. McIntosh:   143 – 155.   AA Balkema, Rotterdam/Brookfield.
