Plas Newydd is unique as a minature romantic landscape and ferme ornee of the 1780s, reflecting the personalities who brought it to prominence in the society of that period, the Ladies of Llangollen. Such was their fame that Plas Newydd became an essential place to visit on the Picturesque Tour. Today it remains popular with local residents and tourists.
