Basil Hill, Corsham is a Ministry of Defence £40 million refurbishment and renewal project focusing on the existing Basil Hill Barracks site in Corsham.
We were involved in the initial competition/Concept design phase and preferred bidder stages of this PFI project in conjunction with Halcrow and lead Architects, Faulkner Browns. Since then we have progressed through to being the selected design team. We have prepared the landscape master plan, public realm and planting design for the new development comprising recreational living, operational and office facilities.
We have contributed to the schemes Environmental Impact Assessment and prepared the landscape design submissions leading up to and beyond receiving planning consent.
Our inputs have involved working with the team collaboratively to achieve BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) excellent ratings for all new build and the site master plan.
We have been involved in the preparation of performance specification for new artificial pitch and grass pitch facilities. We have prepared tender and construction packages for all external areas including hard and soft elements.
Overall the project seeked to update MOD facilities to deliver a high quality living and working environment for the 21st century within the context of innovative buildings and a contemporary parkland setting.
