Client: PERENCO UK LTD
Wytch Farm Oilfield is the largest onshore oilfield in Western Europe, and has received numerous environmental awards since its inception. We have had full time environmental consultancy involvement since 1983, which has included the preparation of landscape and visual impact studies and land management proposals for all aspects of development including mainland, island and pipeline facilities.
The Wytch Farm development is located within a sensitive area, including an AONB, Heritage Coast, Special Areas of Conservation, Special Protection Areas, Ramsar sites and Sites of Special Scientific Interest. Since 1983 we have provided detailed design consultancy and construction supervision for BP on the Furzey Island development in Poole Harbour, and for the Isle of Purbeck mainland facilities. We have also provided support in the preparation of planning applications for development components, including the preparation of Environmental Reports and Environmental Statements.
In December 2011, BP sold its interests in the Wytch Farm, Wareham and Kimmeridge oil fields to Perenco UK Ltd. Perenco is a leading European oil and gas company with a presence in 16 countries, spanning from Africa to South America, and from the Middle East to Europe. We are now working for Perenco, and have prepared an Environmental Statement, including landscape and visual impact assessment and ecological impact assessment, to support a series of planning applications for the extension of the operation life of the oilfields.
These applications were submitted to Dorset County Council in September 2012 for determination.
