A variety of sustainability assessments are now undertaken of different projects types. These include BREEAM, Code for Sustainable Home assessments and CEEQUAL. Qualified ecologists are required to achieve credits in particular parts of these assessment processes.
All of our ecologists are members of the Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (IEEM) and are experienced in undertaking the required parts of such assessments.
The ecology component of these assessments includes the assessment of the current ecological value of a site prior to its development, and in determining the potential ecological value of the proposed design. We can also assist in producing landscape and habitat management plans tailored to project specific needs and are able to advise on suitable ecological mitigation and enhancement measures which can be integrated into project design.
This work is best undertaken in parallel with the site layout and landscape design process, where planting schemes and material selection will assist in achieving the maximum credit rating for your development.
