September 2018King Arthur’s Britain: The Truth Unearthed

9pm - BBC 2 - Sunday 16 September 2018 - the landmark history film “King Arthur’s Britain: The Truth Unearthed” will be broadcast for the first time. As reported by the BBC, Professor Alice Roberts will present all the latest evidence to reveal what Dark Age Britain was really like. With exclusive access to excavations at Tintagel Castle, Alice Roberts uses exciting new archaeological discoveries to decode the myths and medieval fake news, piecing together a very different story of this turning point in Britain's history.

Nicholas Pearson Associates has a long term working relationship with English Heritage and helped in gaining SSSI consent for the featured archaeological investigations undertaken in 2016 and 2017. The site lies within a highly sensitive landscape and is a Site of Special Scientific Interest designated for coastal maritime flora amongst other things.  We undertook the botanical assessment of the trench locations and advised on reinstatement measures following the investigations.

Further information about the documentary can be found on the BBC website.
